Week of 1/14

Dear Sun Room Families,
 
We had so much fun this week in the Sun Room! We continued learning all about Winter, and took guesses as to if it would snow soon! Here are some of the fun things we did this week in the Sun Room:
 
Books we read:

• Snowmen All Year, by Caralyn Buehner
• Peek-A-Boo Snowman, by Charles Reasoner

 
 Song we sang:      

• “I’ll Be Wearing My Warm Clothes When It Snows”
• “The January Song”

 
Specialists we saw:

• We read Polar Bear Morning, by Lauren Thompson in Library with Lindsay
• We had a playdate with the big 4-year-olds in the Blue Room
• We visited Julia and Janae in the Art Studio, and painted using primary colors.

 
Classroom Activities:

• We made a beautiful winter collage using pom poms, buttons, glitter, and sequins. Come check them out in the classroom! 
• We made made mittens using many types of textures, including cotton balls, glitter, and pom poms. Each student chose which materials they wanted to use.

 
Theme this week:

• Winter! 

 
 Reminders:

• MCS will be closed on Monday, January 21st (MLK Day) and Tuesday, January 22nd (Professional Development Day)
• Winter Benefit is January 25th at 6:30 pm. 
• Please notify me if your child will be absent from school. 
• If anyone has library books at home, please remember to return.
• Please be sure to label your child’s jacket and any other clothing being sent into school and make sure your child’s change of clothes is seasonally appropriate.
