Hello Sun Room Families!
 
We have been enjoying celebrating Valentine's Day, talking about how much we love showing each other lots of love! It is one of our favorite holidays from the colors, to the outfits, to the treats. Valentine's Day cannot be beat! 
 
Classroom Activities

• We decorated our Valentine's Day bags!
• We finished making Valentine's Day cards for our families. Please look for them in your children's bags.
• We enjoyed Valentine's ice cream with toppings provided by Onima and Muniba!
• We finished making Valentine's Day cards for our families! Look for them in in the children's bags!!
• We handed out our Valentine's cards to each other!
• We used Tangrams for the first time!

Be sure to look for the Valentine's cards we made for you in the children's bags! Remember we will not meet again until Thursday, February 23rd!

Hello Sun Room Families!
 
We have had a terrific week which included an Assembly filled with the entire school all singing! 
 
Classroom Activities:

• We easel painted in beautiful Valentine's colors. 
• Our paintings were into hearts.
• Then, we collaged the hearts in honor of Valentine's Day.
• We started making Valentine's Day cards for our families.

 
Songs We Sang ... along with the usual favorites:

• We sang "If All the Raindrops ..."

Books We Read:

• Snuggle Puppy!, by Sandra Boynton
• Cubby's Very Grumpy Day, by Marla Maysen

 
We will exchange Valentine's Day cards on Wednesday and be sending home some cards of our own!  

Check out the bulletin boards outside and inside the classroom to admire our heart collages!

Dear Rainbow Room Families,
 
We had another exciting week!  Below is an update on what the Rainbow Room children learned this week at Montclare.  Our Theme this week was Valentine’s Day
 
Books we read:

• The Best Thing About Valentines, by Eleanor Hudson
• Mouse’s First Valentine, by Lauren Thompson
• Plant A Kiss, by Amy Krouse Rosenthal

 
Places we went:

• We read Little Cloud in Library
• We did Yoga in movement class
• We played with outside materials like, pinecones, feathers, etc in Art

 

Classroom Activities:

• This week we started talking about valentines day and things that mean “I love you”.  We then explored with water colors and made hearts.  The children got to watch the colors mix.

• Don’t forget to label your children’s coats
• Don’t forget to bring in Valentines by February 14th.  
  ​One for each child in the class.
