Week of 10/15

Dear Star Room 2AM Families,

What a fantastic start to the new school year! We would like to welcome all the new families and children to Montclare. The separation process is going well and wanted to thank you all for your hard work. The Star Room children are acclimating to their new environment, and we could not be happier. Below is an update on what the Star Room children learned this week at Montclare.

Theme this week:

• We explored apples at circle time. We taste tested red, green & yellow apples and voted for our favorite one. We looked at, smelled and tried applesauce.

Books we read:

• Apples and Pumpkins, by Anne Rockwell
• The Apple Pie Tree, by Zoe Hall
• If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, by Laura Numeroff

Songs we sang:

• “What’s the Weather?”
• “Leaves" (Tune to London Bridge)

Places we went:

• We used scarves to stretch and finger puppets to dance in Movement with Lindsay
• We sang Baby Beluga, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and What is Thumbkin in Music with Noel
• We played on the roof playground and the 2nd floor indoor gym

 
Classroom Activities:

• Created apple trees by creating a hand-print with paint and ten gluing on apple cutouts

Reminders:

• Library books are due back next Tuesday 10/23/18
