  • Art was collage day!!! We only used black and white materials
  • Library was spooky this week! Lindsay kept the lights off and read a spooky story
  • In Music, Noel gave a sneak peak of some Halloween songs, like "Poison Ivy"

Classroom Activities:
  • Had our Letter of the Week “E”
  • During centers we worked on our number recognition and counting. Every got a tree with a number on top. The children had to recognize the number, count that many leaves and glue them on.
  • We also practiced making Mat Man. We are getting very good and are started to add in some extra details.
  • The children had a fun cooking segment during "In the Kitchen with Miss Tracey" making Apple Pillows!
  • During classroom art we made Fine Motor Fall Splatter Paint. They will be displayed so take a look- they are usually a fan favorite!!

Theme this week:
  • We talked about Fall
  • Next week we will continue to discuss Fall, Apples, Leaves and Trees with some Halloween sprinkled in!!

Reminders:
  • 11/9 - Leaf Hunt-- EVERY CHILD NEEDS AN ADULT
  • Halloween Party-- more info to come soon!
Have a great weekend,

Week of 10/1

10/5/2018

Dear Panda Room Parents,

We had a great week in the Panda Room learning all about Fall.

Books we read:
  • Fifi Ferret's Flute, by Samantha Berger
  • 10 Apples Up On Top, by Dr. Seuss
  • When Autumn Comes, by Robert Maass
  • How Do You Know It's Fall?, by Allan Fowler

Places we went:
  • Art came to the Panda Room which was fun because we have never done that before
  • We performed in a drum circle during movement
  • Every brought back their library books this week- Miss Lindsay was very impressed!

Classroom Activities:
  • Had our Letter of the Week “F”
  • During centers we read 10 Apples Up On Top. After we each balanced "apples" (bean bags) on our heads to see how many we could balance. Lastly, we graphed the amount of apples on another piece of paper. We are learning about different graphs in math.
  • We are also working on our patterns. We are moved from AB to ABC.
  • Shapes are very important so we made scarecrows using a lot of different shapes.
  • During classroom art we made fall trees using q-tips. This is also helpful to build our fine motor skills.

Theme this week:
  • We talked about Fall
  • Next week we will continue to discuss Fall, Apples, Leaves and Trees

Reminders:
  • 10/12 Farmers Market
  • 11/9 - Leaf Hunt-- EVERY CHILD NEEDS AN ADULT

Have a great weekend!
