Week of 10/29

Dear Koala Room Parents,

We had a great week learning about Halloween!
 
Books we read:

• The Fat Cat Sat on the Mat First Thanksgiving, by Nurit Karlin
• The Lonely Scarecrow,, by Tim Preston
• Glad Monster, Sad Monster by Ed Emberley
• Princesses Wear Pants by Savannah Guthrie

 
Places we went:

• We went to the second floor gym and built a Haunted House with ghosts!
• We used water colors in Art
• We had trick or treated throughout the entire building

Classroom Activities:

• Learned about the Letter T and the sound it makes
• Practiced our cutting
• Finished our classroom phone booth
• Practiced tracing our names and shapes
• Spotted our ABC's and 123's
• Graphed our favorite kind of candy
• Practiced some matrix reasoning skills with analogies
• Made traced some T's and worked on our three point grip
• Counted bats and matched them to numbered caves
• Worked on spatial visualization with some tangram puzzles
• Made witches brew to drink

Theme this week:

• We talked about Halloween
• Next week we will learn about Families and Homes
